Types of funeral services include:

• A complete service and committal at the Church or Chapel
• A service conducted at a Church or Chapel followed by a procession or cortege to the Cemetery for the burial or cremation
• Graveside service
• A public or private service
• A memorial service
• Funeral services at an alternative location such as Marae, family home or garden, park, or beach.

Remember a funeral service is an opportunity to celebrate a life. Personalising the funeral to reflect the individual can be done in many ways.

• Favourite music can be played.
• Involve family and friends to deliver eulogies, readings or poems.
• Display photos, hobbies and crafts reflecting the person’s life and interests.
• Personalise the casket with special items such as fishing rods, garden tools, builders apron etc.
• Personalised service sheets.
• Personalise the floral tribute eg include favourite flowers or colours perhaps even garden veggies for the keen vegetable gardener.
