What kind of funeral do I want?
There are many alternatives to consider when planning a funeral service. Please feel free to tell us of your ideas and thoughts. Our role is to put your ideas into reality.
Types of funeral services include:
- A complete service and committal at the Church or Chapel
- A service conducted at a Church or Chapel followed by a procession or cortege to the Cemetery for the burial or cremation
- Graveside service
- A public or private service
- A memorial service
- Funeral services at an alternative location such as Marae, family home or garden, park, or beach.
Remember a funeral service is an opportunity to celebrate a life. Personalising the funeral to reflect the individual can be done in many ways.
- Favourite music can be played.
- Involve family and friends to deliver eulogies, readings or poems.
- Display photos, hobbies and crafts reflecting the person’s life and interests.
- Personalise the casket with special items such as fishing rods, garden tools, builders apron etc.
- Personalised service sheets.
- Personalise the floral tribute eg include favourite flowers or colours perhaps even garden veggies for the keen vegetable gardener.
