Peacefully in Wanganui on Saturday, 27th June 2026. Loved Mum of Sherrie and Peter O’Connor, and Grant Thoms. Dearly loved Nana of Kimberley, Robert and Keefe; Oliver, and Sophie. A much loved sister and sister in law. 

A memorial service for Cheryl will be held in the Cleveland Chapel, 179 Ingestre Street, Wanganui, on Friday 3 July 2026 at 10:30am and live streamed on www.clevelandfunerals.co.nz.

Mum, you have always been so very special to me and we have been close. I loved spending what time I could with you after the terrible news. I will forever miss you and don't know when exactly it will no longer hurt from the gap now left in my heart. We love you always and forever. You are now at peace with Nana and Grandad and others whom we have lost before you.

My beautiful friend I will miss you so much. I will cherish the memories of the funny, silly times we had! I took you out of your comfort zone, you brought me back to reality. We learned our 13year age gap was perfect for our friendship. Forever in my heart, Fossil Features.

I’m very sorry that we won’t be able to be there for the funeral. Please know that we’ll be thinking of you all and remembering Cheryl on the day.
