My deepest sympathy to Iriaka’s family. A valued friend and colleague from her time in Gnowangerup. Iriaka was a great nurse and loved by her patients. R.I. P.

A much loved and respected ‘mother’. We spent a lot of time together in her Gnowangerup days and made many memories I will cherish. Love to the family at this difficult time

Hi Aunt,
I’ve been thinking about you as you begin your journey to Uncs, Kata, Nan, and all those you loved and left before you. Give them all a big hug from us when you get there. As we send you our love and our goodbyes, we know it’s not forever — we’ll see you again one day.

PS: I found the scores from our very last game of Scrabble, and would you believe it… after 40+ years of trying, it was the first time I ever beat you. And no, I didn’t cheat — but you definitely tried to lol, It was such a good day at home with you. Your moko Tahlia making us snacks, and your moko‑moko girls Te Aio, Tomairangi, and Te Atatū completely ignoring us and playing their own games. I’ll be forever grateful for that last memory, and I’ll always treasure the time we got to spend with you.

Forever ours, Aunt.
Rest in eternal peace, free from pain.
Love you always. Narn and the girls
